This week we started off with finalizing specific dates for some workshops. The cooking 101 and the auto workshop (Aka Driving Safety) are ready to go. The design group will be creating flyers for these workshops so that we can begin promoting them ahead of time. We started planning what we will be doing at the club fair this same week on Friday. We had one representative from our team notifying students about the upcoming workshops. We had a spreadsheet in which Students at CCHS could sign up to get a notification about the workshop they want to attend. Some workshops we had on the spreadsheet were, Financial Literacy, Cooking 101, and Driving Safety. By having students sign up we are promoting our workshops more, and students will be one step closer to learning about future (adulting) skills. Letting students know about the upcoming workshops that will be provided for them will give them time- especially for seniors- to realize that these workshops will be essential for them and that they will most likely be needing these skills in the future. When students realize this, they will definitely want to attend our workshops. Our GBLA team doesn’t want students at CCHS to feel self-conscious about when it comes to moving on to adult life. We genuinely want students at CCHS to be successful in life and to be more confident in themselves.
